Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program (BECLP)

Pushing Education Boundaries

Each month I travel to the Clayton Early Learning Center in Denver to participate in the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program.  It is an 18 credit fellowship with a focus on leadership theory and application.  I am honored to be a part of this program as not only am I benefiting tremendously from the shared knowledge of the other fellows, but I have also been introduced to tremendous networking in the state education realm.  I have pushed myself out of the Montessori world to understand the broader context of education.

The graduate classes began over the summer and the focus was on Equity in Leadership and Transformational Leadership.  It tied in nicely with my start with the Montessori Public Policy Initiative (MPPI). Both organizations understand education as a social justice issue.
