Licensing Advisory Committee Appointment

Martha Teien Appointed by Governor Polis to Advisory Committee

Today, September 19, 2019, I was appointed by Governor Jared Polis to the Advisory Committee on licensing of Child Care Facilities.  I have worked extensively over the last three years with Early Childhood licensing for Colorado (Colorado Department of Human Services - CDHS) to advocate that alternative methods of early childhood education are taken into consideration by licensing.  This includes Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilio and full day outdoor programs.  Having successfully built a strong relationship with CDHS, I was nominated and then appointed to this position.  I am so grateful to work with the State of Colorado in this capacity.
